Dewali Magic

Light and Darkness

Grateful for this balance. Thankful to this new moon's intense energy that made me see further, inquire deeper, question lauder and... Find the way to a higher vibration.
It was
Not
Easy
, I confess.
But we did it. We trusted the process and we performed the rituals, we sat together in front of the Hindu Gods, and I humbly accepted guidance. I did not ask for anything - was feeling way to lost, to tired, to drained, to do so - but I just opened my heart to accept. Accept what needs to come. Almost like I was dropping my head to take a punishment. "Let it come", I thought to myself, but instead... I felt this warm wave of gentleness, understanding, and Love. It all started in my stomach and took over all of my body. I did not feel relief, not just yet, but I felt held. Like in Mother's arms... I cry now, grateful to how magical this was.
And now I see... How it has always been there, in this shape or another, the higher forms of consciousness, the accessible manifestations of The Source, are here, around us, everywhere.
The whole house feels so amazingly light and bright today. Grateful to Diwali times. I don't know if I am becoming a Hindu myself but... Let's #createNewFamilyTraditions, I can say a lot of my darkness transmuted into Light.

I Trust, a little bit... bigger, today.

Share. How did you spend your 11.11 time?

Moon rituals

Next July the 1st is the full moon.

Again? - you might be asking,

Yes. I don't know about you but following the phases of the moon just gives me this... kind of a feeling of flow with nature's rhythms, and the gift a constant insight about how I am spending my time, what I am learning from life, what new things I am open to welcome and what old patterns I want to work on.

I don't know about you but every time I know the full moon is here I take some time to sit and just let the last full moon and what I was doing then, come to my mind. I like to grab my journal and write about how I remember I felt back then, and how I feel now. I like to look for the journal entry I made at that last cycle and read it... To feel how it syncs with how I feel right now, or how it moves away from it. And I like to do the same for my child.

Make it a #sacredritual burning some sage, lighting some candles... or do it in nature, letting Mother Earth's light guide you... or do it with your child during a fun coloring session (for older children you can even ask how they feel today and let them create about that! Can be such a fun to create #newFamilyTraditions like this!)

Have you tried this #roadmapOfParenting , #moonChild ?

See you, under the Full Moon.

Woman, you belong to the night...

"Woman, you belong to the night.
You have blood on your thighs
and furze in your hair.
You smell of loamy fertile soil.
Your breasts give life,
Your sex is a mystery school
leading to the holy of holies.

Turn your eyes inward.
Use owls' vision to see where you come from.
Slip beneath the surface,
and feel yourself become full.

Make a marriage to the moon.

Divorce the false gods of intellect and reason.
Find meaning in your dreams.
And in the secrets of your body.

Follow no authority
But your own true nature.

Make a sacred fire
And throw on it all that you would use to harm yourself.
Make kindling from shame.

Let your dance be wild.
Your voice be honest.
And your heart untamed.

Be cyclical.
Don't make sense.

Initiate yourself.
Initiate yourself."

Reasons to follow the Moon

FULL Moon... Full Moon...
I am a Moon lover
and the more I love,
and the more I connect with Moon's amazing energy and the deeper I go inside myself.

Are you a moon lover, I asked before?
Did you know the Moon phases can be an amazing tool in the roadmap of your parenting?
Yes, an amazing way to connect with your baby.

Here is a list of "why"... it is so good to LOVE the moon (from Sacred Dreams page)

"Why follow the moon? Here's a few reasons why following the moon cycles can be nourishing and inspiring:
1. The moon's energy waxes and wanes - paying attention to the moon cycles allows us to work with this energy rather than against it.
2. Its comforting "...even when the moon looks like it's waning...it's actually never changing shape. Don't ever forget that.” -Ai Yazawa, Nana, Vol. 14
3. Its promotes a sense of balance - most of us follow the sun closely, even if we do not realize it. We are happy on days when the sun shines bright and look forward to its warmth and energy. The moon provides a sense of balance to this energy - it reflects your internal world; the subconscious, your inner desires and deepest dreams. This internal world deserves to be seen and heard.
4. Its a natural rhythm - many people feel a deep sense of connection with the moon and can intuitively feel our ancient connection to this natural "calendar".
5. Women especially, have a special connection to the moon - some finding that their menstrual cycle, or "moon cycle" is in tune with the moon. Some women find that they bleed with the Full Moon, others, with the New Moon.
6. The moon changes astrological signs about every 2 1/2 days or so, adding a deeper level to the astrological guidance of our sun signs.
7. New Moon energy provides the opportunity to release and let go. Tuning into this energy allows us to clear the slate, making room for the sacred work we hope to do in the world
8. Full Moon energy often shines a light on areas of our selves or lives that need examination, sometimes going deep into our subconscious to call forth our most authentic selves.
9. Simple, everyday ritual - following the moon cycles provides the opportunity for simple rituals, such as journaling at the Full Moon, lighting a candle to release negative energy, or coming together with others for a New Moon intention setting circle - helping us invite the sacred into our lives.
10. “When hope is fleeting, stop for a moment and visualize, in a sky of silver, the crescent of a lavender moon. Imagine it -- delicate, slim, precise, like a paper-thin slice from a cabochon jewel. It may not be very useful, but it is beautiful. And sometimes it is enough.”

Easter full moon

Full Moon eclipse is here (visible from America, Asia and Australia).

Yes, and eclipse, again.
Do you follow the moon phases?
Do you let Moon energy inspire your days, recharge your crystals, help to map your child's moods and needs (and your own)?
Every moon phase brings new gifts, and this one, the readers of the skies tell me, is about new beginnings, yes, after a time of letting go (did you get into Spring cleaning mode?) it is time to welcome #sacredbeginnings. They say really big, exciting, NEW things for all of us! What is new in your life right now? What new energy are you ready to WELCOME into your days?

So what #sacredrituals are you preparing?
Easter energy can be an inspiration, and the warm sun can invite you to stay outdoors, enjoy gardening or just walking in nature.
Take plenty of rest and eat lightly, the eclipse is a time to take it easy and slow down, help your children to do the same and engage in light activities.

Play egg hunting, play magic.
Did you know if you burry a raw egg in your garden it will help to bring wealth and fertility (in all ways) to your life? Yes, happy Easter Full Moon eclipse to you, dear one.

Moon time

Today is a day for BALANCE.
A day of Perfect balance between night and day, light and darkness...

Take some time to think about what does this means to you (it is a great time to meditate) when do you feel more in balance? (And when was the last time you felt it?)

Today (March 20th) there is a potent energy available for us, we will experience the Solar eclipse and a New Moon in Pisces and
The spring (vernal) equinox, in the Northern Hemisphere (the autumnal equinox in the Southern Hemisphere).

Create #newfamilytraditions with an Equinox ritual:

Just a few moments before the exact moment of the equinox go outside with a raw egg - this is so much fun, the kids are going to love it - find a place in the ground and balance the egg upright by simply setting it down on the ground. I mean it! It will stand up all by itself.
I remember doing this with my brother when I was a child and thinking "he knows magic" ;-)
This is possible thanks to the balancing of the earth's gravity midway between the extremes of light and dark (Sun and Moon).
This Egg is a symbol for new life and fertility, a symbol o #newbeginnings ...

During the eclipse times nature turns within and you might feel you need extra REST. There are many animals that just sleep during this time and even some that choose to fast. Be mindful of what you eat as the eclipse seams to make digestion slower.

This is a time when the EMOTIONS come to the surface so keep track on your thoughts, your feelings, your plans.
Keep in mind - do we tend to forget? - this energy affects everyone... So be gentle with yourself and others.
More tantrums and meltdowns at your place? Gently guide your children for activities that can help them, like yoga (balancing), playing in nature (grounding) or engaging in little projects (creativity channeling emotions).

This is a day to welcome balance, create your spell to attract this energy into your life.
And believe in it, share it here (if you wish to) sharing it into the world makes it more powerful.

Mine?
May I always be able to find balance between my life's excitements (traveling, writing, enjoying my son) and my needs (self care, self love, inner peace).

Happy Moon Love everyone.

New Moon - New Beginning

New Moon in Pisces #sacredbeginnings #sacredrituals

Do you realize that what you deeply, and maybe even secretly, wish for CAN come true? Do you realize how powerful is your thought and how tricky is the mind?

New moon is here and this is a great time to set intentions and manifest your dreams.

You might be thinking this text is not for you, specially if you have a small child, teething; or a newborn, waking up every two hours; or you are just a busy... tired mom... You might be thinking this "new moon stuff" is not for you cause I can't manage to SLEEP! How can I DREAM? Read on, dear sister, read on...

Dear Mom Living in Extreme Exhaustion

"Mama exhaustion, let me just say YOU are awesome. I know you’re doing everything you can in your own will and power to do what’s best for your family. You are perfectly imperfect those long nights you sit with some real and deep emotions, and imperfectly perfect each day, just the way you are.

I know you are wondering what you did to deserve this. Seeing your friends struggle less than you, wondering, why you? You may think you are being punished for all the poor choices you made in this world. The truth is you are being GUIDED to see yourself in a new light. To be a newer version of you.

Sleep is more than this thing we do at night. Those who rest easily each night call it restorative. Those who have kids who have slept well from the start say it is relaxing. I call bullshit. Relaxing? No, those of us who have been sleep deprived with a child who doesn’t sleep define it as something very different.

We define sleep as pain. The very thing that causes us to struggle with acceptance of where we are in life. The very state that causes us fear and sadness. The one thing that makes us feel like we are failing at parenting. Sleep (or lack of) brings us face to face with our own anger.

But sleep isn’t just a state of being or a noun… Sleep is a lesson, a practice, an art. When you step back, examine your own internal beliefs about sleep and your own self-defeating comments you voice when your child won’t sleep, you are unknowingly gifted with a list of core beliefs that may no longer be serving you. These statements such as,

I’m not good enough…

Something must be wrong with me…

I am the worst mother, I don’t even like my child when I can’t get him to sleep…

No one understands me or what this is like…

The very thoughts that keep you awake at night. You have come face to face with your own anxieties. And it is hellishly scary and lonely and depressing. What if I told you learning to reframe these anxieties will lead to more sleep in your house? Instead of trying to fix sleep, maybe is it in your highest and best to REPAIR your relationship with self? Listen to your negative self-talk; mother it. When did you first learn this about yourself? BREATHE into those thoughts as you allow them to become LIGHTER, softer, moving through you. Invite in new energy, positive thoughts such as,

I am perfectly imperfect and perfect all at once….

I am SAFE in this world….

I am LEARNING to love myself and my family more everyday….

I am OPEN to understanding me, my thoughts, my beliefs….

I choose to love and accept all part of me and all parts of my child….

Emotional HEALING and self-care, that is a state that is restorative for mind and body.

The CONNECTION between you and your child is linked via energetic fields. When you retrain yourself to feel calm and connected at bedtime, your child is learning to feel calm and connected at the same time. As you release the fears of your little one not falling asleep or waking at any moment, you notice your child sleeping more and waking less. When you catch yourself labeling your child as a “bad sleeper”, you’ll begin to see how our self-talk and labeling shapes our world.

You’ve been thinking this is all about sleep. (I know because I did too!) It’s really about you. And parenting. And growing. In a very odd, demented way, you are lucky. When you learn to conquer stress during extreme exhaustion, the skills you learn will enable you to be a calm parent as your child grows. You are completing quite possibly the ultimate emotional marathon. And as you make progress on this journey, sleep will fall into place.

Dear mama who’s exhausted, you’re being asked to learn SELF-CARE. It’s not optional, it’s essential to surviving sleep deprivation (because you will survive.) You’re being called from your higher power to have a deeper connection with self, more compassion for self, and releasing the old programming which no longer serves you. There are many paths to self-care, from yoga to EFT Tapping (my fave!), therapy and more but nothing is as powerful as acceptance: “Even though there are parts of me I do not love, I am worthy of accepting all parts of me with love and grace. I am worthy. And I am loved.”

I see you, dear one. We are connected through experience. Through extreme exhaustion, I have felt your pain. I know it gets better. You are strong. The days will be brighter. You are an IMPERFECTLY PERFECT mother, just as you are. I believe in you. And I love you for the work you are doing in this world. You are a blessing to many."

Love,

Stephanie Dodd (a mom who's been there and survived)

This New Moon set your intentions to LOVE, love yourself, it is, truly, the best love you can give to others.

Moon lover?

You know all full moons are different, right? So, deep astrology apart (I get lost there!), this is simply a very POSITIVE moon, a time to CELEBRATE and be CREATIVE! This moon is all about your inner child, so have fun and nurture your playful side!

Specially if you were criticised too harshly when you were a child, remember that nourishing your children is also nourishing yourself. How? Give them what you wished you had (someone combing your hair maybe, or taking time to play with you outside... Someone looking you in the eyes and accepting what you have to say) and join them in the treat. It is so easy for us to get trapped in the parenting style we received... If doesn't resonate with you be mindful and... Change it.

Join your kids playtime (but don't join them as "a parent", be one of the players, let your inner child lead you).

Remember celebration can mean dancing the morning away (in the living room, of course! With the kids! For sure!) and creativity can come in any shape and form! Can be cooking something really new, enjoy crayons coloring or... Creating stories! This is one of my favorites!!

What about... Helping your children connect to nature and it's cycles creating a full moon story telling tradition? (It is usually a night most of us stay awake longer anyway... ;-))

Enjoy play and #createnewfamilytraditions

#sacredlivingmovement

#sacredtribe

Moon baby?

Big, round, full, what a Moon! Is it already shining in your sky?

Are you a Moon worshiper? (Just like me... ;-))

We women are so connected to the Moon that even if we don't know, we don't care, we don't want to hear about it, every particle of our being celebrates, re-borns, hides away in seclusion and brightly gets out in the open (attracting like a magnet the life filled ones)... with every Moon, and it's cycles.

Yes, just like the tides, the crops and the sky, WE, WILD daughters of the Earth, live with the Moon.

And what do you do? How do you feel? Is it your body giving you the signs that just let you guess "oh must be a full moon tonight"? Are your emotions your sky map? Or do you follow a specific "Moon practice"? Do you join Red tent meetings or meditation circles?

Do you cut your hair on the crescent moon and do you create manifestation rituals on the Dark Moon, or fast during the eclipse?

And what about your children? Do you feel it affects them? Maybe the sleep, the energy? For sure the creativity!

Was your child born on a full Moon? Or did you feel your waters moved by it's powers?

The Moon and creation, pregnancy, birth, naming ceremonies, initiation rituals... are meaningful partners. And every month we are given an opportunity to honor it's Magic.

Moons and babies...

Did you know the Chinese term for full moon also means "full month"? In China it is custom to hold a celebration party when a baby turns one month old. How beautiful! This coincides with the end of the new mum's confinement period, so this is the first time the extended family and friends meet the new baby.

Inspiring traditions!

With the FULL MOON our nervous systems become more sensitive so you might fell like you just want to be with yourself, nourish your soul and spend time alone to go deeper inside. Although being a mum rarely gives us any time by ourselves (no, not even in the bathroom!) bare in mind that the full moon affects us all, so try to engage in family activities (if you must) that can also help your children to connect to their emotions.

See you in my #sacredrituals, #sacredtribe
