Forget that you are a mother... Just for a second

Today take some time to forget that you are a mother.
Be "only a daughter" even if just for a few minutes.

Go to Mother Earth once more, for She is always there, and accept, accept Her nourishment.

Accept, accept the flaws you believe you have and embrace it all.
Or let Nature, embrace you.
Believe me, it will, inspire your days.

Today take one deep breathe

Realizing the most precious moment of my day is when I manage to stop for just a second and take one.deep.breathe. This is it.

I go out every morning with my toddler, he sits in his stroller and on the way to the playground I grab some coffee for myself. This ordinary life habit is for me a #sacredritual, and so much healing happens in such a simple task. It gets me out of the house to begin with (for a full time mom I find this is so important!) but more than that I realized that once I have that cup in my hand and I take the first sip... that first sip of warm, fragrant coffee (probably for me infused of so many happy memories) all my body relaxes, I slow down inside out and there is a perfect, deep breathe, almost a sigh, that spontaneous and genuinely just... happens.
And I think to myself "There! if nothing else, today I had this."

How about you?
When do you, just stop, and breathe?

Go back to that state of mind... When you were pregnant.

New moon
New Beginnings

We just passed an intense new moon and I don't know about you but we all felt it very strongly at my place. I could not make time for any kind of sacred ritual. My son did not settle to sleep before 2AM (!!) and me, yes, I did not want to say it, but I was also feeling restless, inside...
Today... today take some time to go back to your state of mind when you were pregnant...

Like in a meditation take some time to connect to that #newmom you were then, full of hopes and dreams, speaking to your child inside. Remember the sacredness of those moments when you choose to connect with a being you could not yet see, or hear. Remember your openness back then. Remember how willing you were to read any message sent by your unborn child.
Today, be that open mother, ready to receive, honoring the deep connection you HAVE with this being you hold NOW, you nurse now, that is in front of you, right now.
Do we often forget, how much we dreamed and longed for this role we now PLAY? Bring this pleasure back to your life as a mother and sprinkle it all over your days...
Feel how healing this can be for you both.

Enjoy your #meditationForMothers with #sacredbeginnings

When things get tough...

I will be honest with you, when things get really tough, I meditate.
And no, do not picture me siting alone, crossed legs, hands in prayer mudra, eyes closed, singing mantras, no. That is not how I meditate, at least not most of the times. I will tell you how it goes.

Last night was not easy for me... I mean last couple of nights haven't been easy for me. Or maybe more than a couple, to be honest it fells like weeks... my baby is been waking up often in the middle of the night and I get out of bed in the morning feeling exhausted. It is so easy to loose your patience when this happens, it is easy to blame it on your skills as a mother and think you are doing something wrong... or even to blame it on your baby and feel he is the one giving you a hard time. It is then, when I feel these things, that I meditate.
Yesterday I was nursing my baby, trying to help him back to sleep, I was feeling so helpless until... Until I took a moment to focus inside and give myself time to calm down. I just felt my feet, I just focused on my feet on the floor and I imagined them bare and raw, flat on the moist brown dirt, as I spoke to Mother Earth. I did not use any fancy prayer I said this: I am your daughter, please help me to connect with my child and his needs, please support me in my path as a mother, please inspire me with the needed patience and kindness and please help me to welcome peace into my being.
I immediately felt at ease, from my feet up my legs, all the way to my heart chakra I felt bliss coming to me... I opened my eyes and saw my baby's face, he had fallen asleep...

After I meditate

I had tons of things on my mind today, texts to write, images to choose, messages to send, mails to reply to... And of course TumTum (my son) to take care of... And then, and then I went to meditate. Yes, it felt like I was too busy to do it but I took 10 minutes during my son's nap to sit at my sacred space, just sit, close my eyes and breathe. The thoughts kept coming to me, and a little voice inside kept saying "you can't meditate now", I was not happy with this voice, I wanted to just say "shut up"! I wanted the silence, the blissful state meditation promises...
No, it was not happening. And then... Then I accepted the busy, loud thoughts. I stopped fighting them. I allowed them to come, and... Go. And after a while I could not hear them anymore, there was no voice struggling and judging, there was a kind of... silence, I think. Or was it just me, in peace with it all? Either way, at some point I feel calm, relaxed, at ease.
And after that... Making myself some tea, I could see how the beautiful pink color was the same as the table cloth, and that made me smile, and that, that only, was enough.

Learning with Yoga

Yoga lover? Yoga is part of the Sacred Beginnings program, inspiring mothers to practice this kind of... Self-Love (yes, more than anything else I believe yoga is about self-love!), and empowering them to start a yoga path with the little ones, sharing postures as an amazing way to CONNECT and gently guide our children's lives, honoring it's #sacredbeginnings .
Yoga and sharing yoga, fully, mindfully present with your loved ones is truly a #meditationformothers

"As children learn about their bodies through yoga postures, they learn about their minds through meditation.  They learn that they can control their thought patterns, their emotions and their well-being."

Mothers writing

For me #sacredbeginnings is about INSPIRING, empowering, supporting, nourishing... Mothers.

For me a huge part of this is SHARING, holding space to just be, to just give, to just listen...
And one of the most amazing tools we can use to hold space for ourselves is WRITING. Journaling our feelings, our thoughts (our lives!) is incredibly HEALING, for ourselves, and for the sisters that read us! How many of us started writing (or writing more! Or sharing what we write! Or publishing!) since we became mothers? Yes, I believe it is one of the #motherhoodawakeninnings , this ability to CREATE with words, and without a doubt a powerful #meditationformothers !

A few days a go I asked our #sacredSisterhood to share their blogs and this is the list that BLOOMED from there:

From Gauri

From Cheryl

From Rachel

From Kate

From Molly
and

I add a few more motherhood blogs that I follow and LOVE:

From Kari

From Stephanie

From Kelle

From Nirrimi

From Paala

From Falan

From Helen

From Ara

...
This list is not over! Do you have a blog? Share it with us!
Enjoy these amazing texts on what I like to call "motherhood, and it's awakenings" <3

Mothers meditate

How does this sound to you? Essential? Impossible? A daily routine? Nothing but an intention in your "to do" list...?

Meditation doesn't have to be sitting crossed legged, eyes closed, prayer mudra, empty mind...  For me it hardly ever is!

It can be the wind in your skin, and the way it feels like a caress from Mother Earth;
It can be cooking and the way it allows you to be creative and forget the rest;
It can be writing and holding space for yourself, your fears and your joys;
It can be just looking at your child sleeping... and how intense, how fulfilling, how perfect this can be...

It can be... walking! Mindfully walking.
It can be... Tell me, what are your motherhood meditations?
