World Down syndrome day

Can't help sharing this beautiful post from Enjoying the Small Things - Kelle Hampton

Nella...

Has 11 Barbies.

Wears 2 braids.

Knows the lyrics to 3 Taylor Swift songs.

Has 1 sister and 3 brothers.

She's visited 10 states in the U.S.

Says 2 bad words.

Can stack 15 blocks.

Finds and opens iPad apps in 1.5 seconds flat.

She changes her clothes 7 times a day.

Pedals her tricycle 2 blocks.

Walks another and makes me carry it back for 3.

She has sung "Let it Go" 328 times.

Nella has 5 grandpas.

3 grandmas.

6 stolen Shopkins, unbeknownst to her sister.

Can eat 100 pretzels in a row.

Knows 25 letters of the alphabet.

Forgets 1--Q is tricky, you know.

Nella is 5 years old.

Has 2 parents who love her so.

Makes us laugh 100 times a day.

Numbers can define us in so many ways.

3 copies of the 21st chromosome are just a tiny part.

Happy World Down Syndrome Awareness Day to 6 million people in the world who have it, millions more who love them and the 66,000 people who follow here--I hope you see what we see...that chromosomes, like age and laugh lines, ain't nothin' but a number. We celebrate the stories they hold. #lifewithDS
