Have you thought about how a simple walk to the nearest coffee shop can make wonders in a new mom's life?
"Let's grab some coffee today!"
Oh, what is it about this that brings such comfort to my being? I think it might be one of the most powerful rituals you can offer to yourself as a New Mom - sit for coffee with a friend.
Even if you can't "sit for coffee" cause you have a crawler or a toddler that won't like it, grab that coffee to go and take a stroller walk, or head to the nearest playground where the children can play, and you can talk...
Even if you don't drink coffee, maybe you worry about breastfeeding or baby colic and carefully select everything you take at this time, it is not about the caffeine, it is... the magic around it. There is so much healing power in this simple, easy, routine that I am upgrading it to part of #sacredrituals list!

What's about it?
Images come to me, me and a friend sharing the secrets, laughing our dramas away, some innocent flirting with the waiter (oh, am I the only one that can love a certain coffee shop just cause the waiter smiles? :-p), just this, in front of a hot drink (ok, make it a herbal tea if you must).

So good…so good!
Why do I say this IS healing, and might be just what you need?
1. Get's you out of the house.
We all know the feeling of having a new born and feel... kind of stuck at home... You're not, just get out, can be 10 minutes, believe me, it makes a difference.
2. It helps you to take care of yourself.
Yes, it can be easy to stay in pajamasp all day if your work is taking care of a baby, but just the act of putting on clean clothes (even if they don't stay clean long...) and maybe look in the mirror and be in the mood for some lipstick, makes a difference.
3. Sisterhood! Yes, now, maybe more than ever, you need your sisters, and coffee time is just... Girlfriend magic, isn't it?
4. Self-esteem, we get so worried about how is our baby, how is our parenting, what we look like in this new role as a family and when we spend time outside, we see the world is full of people living the same bliss, struggling with the same challenges (even better if you add the cute waiter, brings real light to the fact that you are, a Woman, not "just a mother", and boy it's amazing how we can forget this, isn't it? ;-))
5. Coffee bliss... Oh and yes, I am so sure there is a lot of proved healing power in coffee itself!

So why not create a tradition? Make it an every-other-Friday date with your sisters. Honor it as a time to be free, to laugh, to share, to cry if you need, to talk about the joys and the struggles, to hold space for each other.
So here’s to coffee, to sisterhood, to paths worth celebrating, and sharing!
